THE HARMONS
As Washington natives, our love and loyalty run deep with the Evergreen state’s waters, mountains, and people. They have forged us into who we are today, just as the Shire prepared Bilbo Baggins for his adventure through Middle Earth. We “stepped out our front door,” unsure of where “we might be swept off to” (J.R.R. Tolkien) when we moved across the world for a cross-cultural adventure in Germany. Now we are back in our beloved PNW, ready to see what lies around the corner.
Chase’s long experience with Young Life and Meg’s history with church ministry has shaped how we live and what we value. The influence of adults on our lives as teenagers compels us to orient our lives in a way that welcomes and lifts up those of younger generations. As we share God’s message of love, grace, and hope to students, we are continually forced to accept it for ourselves. Jesus told his disciples that he would send them “to the ends of the earth,” while we did not expect our “end” to be Germany and back, we are ready to say another full-hearted “yes!” to God’s invitation...wherever in the world it may be. So bring on Mukilteo!
ABOUT MEG
Meg was born and raised in the desert in Yakima, WA. From a young age, her love for creativity of all forms was obvious. As a music therapist, she loved bringing the joy and connection of music to special populations. Through her volunteer work with Young Life, she discovered her own calling to ministry and earned a MA in Spiritual Formation and Direction from Portland Seminary. Meg is thrilled to continue serving Young Life staff in Europe as she creates resources and opportunities for spiritual formation.
