Today is a big day! We are on the train waving “Auf Wiedersehen” to Munich. After a long season of discernment, it became clear that we were being led back to Washington State. We are sad to leave and full of bittersweet emotions, but we are glad to announce that Chase has accepted a call with Young Life to be the Area Director of…

Mukilteo, Washington!

(Just 30 minutes north of Seattle)

For those who have been with us on this journey, we have to say thank you. There are many things to say, but today we will be brief. So, here’s a few details you might want to know:

Why Mukilteo?

We are eager to be closer to family in this new season of parenting and the Young Life leadership team there pursued Chase with care and intention. Overall, it was the best option and we think it a good place to make our transition back to American life…plus we are stoked to watch the sunset over the Olympics! And Sam can’t wait to throw rocks in the Sound. We are looking forward to being back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

Ministry-wise, it offers an interesting mixture of students across the socio-economic spectrum at two high schools, Kamiak and Mariner, and several middle schools. We look forward to using our cross-cultural experience to better love and serve students from diverse backgrounds. Chase’s old Young Life region was so excited to have him back, they created this position for him! And believe it or not, YOU are one of the reasons! We have a big team of supporters that makes starting a new area possible.

What about my donation?

Don’t cancel it yet! We will be making our transition this month and Chase will start with Mukilteo August 1st. Mukilteo is a “restart” area and we will be highly dependent on personal support during the beginning until a local funding base can be established. There’s also a possibility that I (Meg) will keep a part-time position with Young Life Europe providing spiritual formation resources for staff!! We will be reaching out in August with more details and get a chance to catch up! We hope you will stay with us on our journey as relational ministers. It is easy to transfer your gift, just hold tight and we will instruct you.

How can we support you?

Pray for housing. I truly don’t know what it will look like! Will we rent an apartment or a house? Will it be possible to buy something? This is our next big thing to figure out, and we are praying for a good option.

We need furniture! While we shipped some boxes back to the USA, the only piece of furniture we now own is a plant stand I inherited from my Grandma that has been collecting dust in Bob Harmon’s basement. If you are getting rid of something in decent condition, let us know!

We will share more as we know more!
