Friends, I am convinced I wrote to you all about an exciting life update–that we’ve been expecting our second child! Looking back, I realized I never did! Maybe it was the whirlwind of life, ministry, a cross-cultural move, and chasing a toddler, or maybe my brain has just been in "newborn fog mode" for months already.

But today, I get to introduce you to someone very special—Lindy Eve, our beautiful baby girl, born on March 20, 2025! She arrived healthy and already deeply loved. Meg is doing great, and her parents, Bob and Kelle, have been incredibly helpful as we transition into life as a family of four.

Her name carries deep meaning for us. Lindy honors my mom, Melinda, who passed away when I was 15. She was a cheerful, compassionate woman who dedicated her life to advocating for health for all through her work at the Washinton State Health Department. My mom was a person of courage, choosing to step into hard spaces for the sake of others, and a person of hope, believing this world could be made better.

Eve reminds us of new beginnings, of anticipation, and hope of what could be (New Year's Eve is often more exciting than New Year's Day). Although Eve in the Bible is often remembered for her disobedience and failings, she is the mother of us all, a representative woman full of courage (she didn't give up in despair after leaving the garden) and hope (believing that God still was with her, even in an unkown world) We seem to like nuanced Old Testament characters!

Together, Lindy and Eve represent courage and hope—we hope Lindy will be able to draw upon the courage of the women who have gone before her and be a woman of hope who doesn't settle for what is, but co-creates with God what could be.

We are beyond grateful for this new little life and for each of you who continue to walk alongside our family in life and ministry. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support—we can’t wait for Lindy to meet the incredible people who make our work with Young Life possible!

With gratitude,

Chase, Meg, Sam, and Lindy
