"Fundraising is a very rich and beautiful activity. It is a confident, joyful, and hope-filled expression of ministry. In ministering to each other, each from the riches that he or she posseses, we work together for the full coming of God's Kingdom."

Henri Nouwen

THE NEED

From the establishment of the Levitical priesthood to the commissioning of the disciples, there has been a biblical precident for vocational ministry. It is not an easy call to depend on the generosity of others, it is risky and vulnerable, but it invites us to recognize our individual poverty and wealth. As ministers, we believe that we do more than ask for  money, we are making a community. A community that cares and shares out of our abundance to support the areas of scarcity.

We have said yes to the invitation to spread hope and love to students in Mukilteo. Josh Shipp says "teenagers are one caring-adult away from being a success story" (watch his amazing story, here). We so believe this is true. Teenagers are more anxious and isolated than ever before. They need caring-adults. They need to know there is a God who loves them and sees them fully.

We are honored to be those adults. To show up, just like Jesus did, in their neighborhood with a message of love to share.
